Habitat for Humanity partners with people to help them build a place they can call home. To us and millions of people around the world, there is no better expression of love than to help our neighbors purchase their own home. We believe every neighborhood can be a good place to call home. Every day in the Capital District, families and communities are working overcome the effects of decades of housing discrimination, disinvestment and practices like redlining. Everyone deserves the opportunity to build a stronger future, and we believe that healthy and affordable homes are the foundation for people and communities to thrive. Strong, healthy homes help build strong, healthy communities. A decent home can remove barriers that might have been part of a family’s life for years, if not generations. Reinvesting in low-income neighborhoods can bring new life and stabilize entire blocks. Together, we can build a more just, more beloved community. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to grow, play and learn in safe, healthy homes. Every parent should have a fair chance to provide these conditions.
